Try it on Tuesday #3!

Try it on Tuesday wooooo! Technically I didn't try this out on Tuesday... but I'm busy tonight and have no time to repaint my nails with a new color. This is a new color that I've worn for the first time, so technically I did just try it on... :)

Color Club's Wild at Heart is a GORGEOUS purple linear holo. My pictures do not do this justice, since there was a storm brewing over NJ and I didn't have much sunlight to work with. This bad boy was opaque in ONE coat. You could have done two, but for me one was enough, and I didn't get any dragging or bald spots. Color Club is growing to be one of my favorite brands! Their polishes are awesome. And this polish just reminds me of... sparkly grape juice. Yum... holographic grape juice...

Overall:
I love this polish. Enough said.

Color Club Wink, Wink, Twinkle and You Got Soul-ar: swatch & review!

Hello again everyone! This is my NOTD. I went to a beauty supply store today, suggested to me by a lovely follower named Stacey. And this store was just... wow. I can't begin to tell you how much polish they had. Holy cow. I was in polish heaven. Probably gonna go back again real soon and just sit in there for hours and rummage through all they have!
In the piles I was lucky enough to find 2 polishes I had seen on another blog a long time ago. I had wanted to try this collection, since it was so interesting. Today, I will show you these awesome polishes...

These polishes are such oddballs. I'll start with the purple, Wink, Wink, Twinkle. This is a bright purple. Super pretty and opaque in 2 coats. Now, I feel like this polish showed the glitter more. I saw less of a holographic effect from the glitter with this polish though. But still, there's something so... different about this polish. The way the glitter still shines through, without sparkle is so amazing. Reminds me of a jelly sandwich, but it's not.
Now on to You Got Soul-ar. I love this name, and so perfect for a BRIGHT orange. Kinda reminds me of a traffic cone in certain light. Now, the holo effect in the glitter in this polish is a lot more noticeable. This was too, opaque in 2 coats. I love the look of this color, and surprisingly I thought I'd like this one the least. I'm loving this.
These polishes also dry smooth. WEIRD, I KNOW. I figured they'd be gritty and top coat eaters. But honestly, they dried completely smooth, with one normal coat of seche vite on top.

I am so impressed by Color Club and I honestly think they're really looked down on for NO reason. I think they are an amazing brand with a lot of room to grow to be one of the top polish brands around. I can't say they have ever disappointed me. Every mani I've ever done with Color Club has been smooth, fast, and BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Color Club for being so amazing!

China Glaze Manhunt + Kalahari Kiss: Swatch and Review!

Hey everyone! Having a good time here in NJ, after getting over some unneeded family drama. We've been having so many AWESOME thunder storms. (kinda freak me out, but still beautiful). Anyway, I've been running all over the place with my grand parents, who spoil me rotten, and I've bought over 20 nail polishes since I've been here with them. (which has been two days, lol!). Anyway, I picked up 2 China Glazes at a local Sally's, which were the two that I wanted the most from the fall collection. Check em' out.

This is a weird mix, I know. But I wanted to test them out together and I honestly really like it. Let's start with Manhunt. Manhunt is a nice, creamy blue. It kind of reminds me of China Glaze First Mate. But thinking back, I think Manhunt is lighter and brighter of a color. A richer Navy/Royal Blue. Manhunt was opaque in two coats. It was pretty smooth with application, so no complaints from me. I actually love this blue. It kind of reminds me of the blue I used to have on my catholic school uniform when I was a little kid...
Now Kalahari Kiss. Kalahari Kiss is a yellow toned beige-y brown? I'm not really sure how to describe it, but unique nonetheless. It reminds me a lot of Classic Camel, minus the shimmer, but it might be because Class Camel is such an odd shade. This color was also opaque in 2 coats, and the application was also fairly easy.
I decided to add the dots using a dotting tool to add a sort of... tribal? feel to it. Not really sure how to describe what I wanted to do here. But I really like it. It's a bit odd, but hey, so am I.

Overall:
I really love these 2 colors, and I'm impressed on the formulas. The rest of the On Safari collection isn't too appealing to me (besides the two glitters, which I will get soon), but these 2 colors really stood out to me. I highly recommend them. China Glaze is also my favorite nail polish brand, so I suggest you check them out!

Sally Hansen Chrome Nail Makeup - Garnet Chrome: swatch and review!

Hey ya'll! If you follow me on facebook, you'll know I'm in NJ and my aunt was showing me her very very very small nail polish collection lol! She gave me one of my favorite polishes, that I used to have when I was a kid. Anyone remember the Sally Hansen Chrome nail polishes? It's a blast from the past, but here ya go. ;)

This is the amazing Garnet Chrome. (ignore the condition of the bottle, it's been in her collection for years). This bad boy was opaque in ONE COAT. I can't remember if they all had coverage like this, but this one was AH-MAY-ZING. It also dried ridiculously fast. I painted my nails, got up, grabbed my camera from my suit case and dinged my nail right then. There was no ding mark on my nail though. Completely dry. Sweeeeeet! The polish also dried into a crisp and clean metallic. No streaks or anything. Granted, you should buff your nails before using this (don't have my buffer with me), because it will show a few imperfections, like the peeling on my index finger. I wish I could find more of these, because these would be absolutely amazing for stamping, since they're so opaque.

Overall:
I love this polish and wish I had a way to get more. I'll have to search the internet like a mad women, and order as many as I can. If you have any of these left, you are LUCKY and I'm just a tad bit jealous of you....

Try it on Tuesday #2!

Hello everyone! I'm on vacation (woooo) and having a WONDERFUL time, but missing all of you! Today for Untried Tuesday I have 2 polishes that I just bought today, so I figured I'd try them. (I also left the rest of my polishes at home and I need to redo my mani). Anyway, I love this brand and this collection, so enjoy....

On my left hand, I did 4 fingers of Milani Cyberspace. I love this color! It is the perfect color blue, with a scattered holo effect. Even indoors, the holo effect is subtle, but the color isn't dull like other holos. This color is absolutely gorgeous. This is with a base coat and top coat, and 3 coats of Cyberspace. (minus accent finger).

And on my right hand...

Three coats of beauty called Milani HD. I love this silver holo. It's a scattered holo, but also very nice in low light. There's just... something different about this silver and I just can't put my finger on it. I absolutely love the formula on this. VERY easy to work with and no pulling at all, like I've had with many silvers and holos.

Overall:
I love these colors so much. I'm so glad I bought them, and owning 4 out of the 6 polishes in this collection, I'd recommend them to ANYONE. I'd say these holos are a must have for any collector, and I'm honestly very proud to say that a drugstore brand has made such a beautiful holo. They're a bit pricey at $5.59, and I believe these are only available at CVS.

JELLY SAMMICH!

Hello all. This will be a quick post for a quick first time mani. I leave tomorrow to head back to NJ, so I will be posting less frequently, but I'll still be showing you new manis. Now, lets get onto the pictures, since I need sleep for my 8am flight LOL!

I did 2 coats on OPI Kiss on the Chic. Kiss on the Chic is a very pale and very sheer pink, but it's one of my FAVORITES. I love this color so much. After I waited for them to dry, I did one coat of OPI Pirouette my Whistle. Pirouette my Whistle has a clear base with silver shimmer and translucent hex glitters. I then did one coat of OPI Gone Gonzo, which is PACKED with blue glitter, and large silver hex glitters. I then topped it off with one more coat of Kiss on the Chic, and a coat of seche vite. And there you are: my sammich.

Overall:
I love this. OPI makes some of the best glitters... But seriously, I just love this. *rushes to get sleep before my flight*. See ya'll later. :)

ORLY Mysterious Curse

Sooo, today I was at Sally's buying a new buffer, and of course looking at polishes, and a saw a few ORLY polishes listed at $3.99. I thought that was a good deal, since they're usually $8 at Ulta. I went to look and saw that it was the new Dark Shadows collection. I was a bit confused, but also VERY happy, considering I've wanted Mysterious Curse for a while now. Luckily, there was one bottle left and I snatched it up. Purple and blue duo-chromey goodness...

This polish is so extremely gorgeous. The changes in color are not subtle at all. The duo-chore effect in this is STRONG. It changes from a deep, vampy purple, to a bright teal blue. The polish was a little troublesome. Caused some bald spots, and pulled a little on my index finger. But it was manageable, you just need to be patient and let it dry before adding more on. (which I'm not). This polish is so gorgeous.

Overall: This polish was so extremely worth it, and I'm so glad I grabbed it. It would still be worth the price at Orly's full price. This color is so gorgeous, and duo-chromes are so in season this summer, so go get your bottle at a nearby Sally's before they sell out!

Try it on Tuesday!

Hello all! Some bloggers brainstormed the idea of doing an untried Tuesday, which then got named Try it on Tuesday!. So now every Tuesday many nail bloggers and I will swatch a polish we bought, and has been collecting dust since! It's a great way to go through all your polishes, and finally get to use the neglected few. *tear*

Anyway, I bought this polish when I was in Florida over Christmas break. I never had a holo before this, and I bought this to use it. As soon as I got home though, I found my Layla holo's, and totally blew this one off... So sad.

Milani's Hi-Res. I'm not really sure why I put off wearing this for so long... This is SO GORGEOUS. Two easy coats, which I was shocked about. Holos usually drag and pull at the cuticles, causing horrible bald spots. Milani went on so smooth and so easily. It's a gorgeous medium purple scattered holo. These photos don't do it justice though. It's pretty holographic in person. It almost has a linear effect sometimes. It's hard to call it a scattered holo sometimes...

Decided to uses my stamping plates for the first time tonight! I used Cheeky plate 24. I used the Klean Color - Black as my stamping color. I thought the little bows were cute over the holo-y goodness...

Overall:
I love this polish to pieces! I kind of feel bad for neglecting it for so long.

Check out the other ladies doing Try it on Tuesday!

Essie Mojito Madness and Set in Stones!

Hey ya'll! Another post for you tonight, since I feel bad for not posting much within the last month! Still just packing and getting ready to go back to NJ! (SO EXCITED!) I also wanted to ask you guys, which colors would be a good idea to bring back with me this summer? Comment below with your answers and help me out! :)
Anyway, I was in Target after a dinner with a few people from my college, and fell IN LOVE with Mojito Madness. It's taken a while for a mani with it, but here it is!

Essie's Mojito Madness is typical "kelly" green, maybe a tad bit darker. This is a perfect summer color, and a fall color too, in my opinion. (honestly, I'll probably wear it any season). The application of this polish was PERFECT. Opaque in 2 coats and went on like butter. I just love Essie's brush also. Makes polish go on so easily.

Decided I wanted to accent it up with the accent finger of Set in Stones, which has easily become one of my favorite glitters ever! Fine silver glitter and large hex glitters, it is beautiful!

Overall:
First of all, I need more Essies. I think they are so worth the price. (honestly, I think they're more worth it than OPI, which are only .50 more). I love this green so much! You should totally run out and get it for this summer! I think it'll look great for a pedi too.

Zoya and HITS Hefesto!

Hey all! Sorry for being so quiet lately. Just got done with my freshman year of college! :) Now I'm just packing up and getting ready to head back to the east coast for most of the summer! (Yay for CVS, where I can get Milani and Spoiled!). Anyway, my nails have been very "blah" lately, for lack of the time and the motivation to do them. This is the first thing I've done with my nails that actually looked decent in a long time! Enjoy the holo-ness...

Flash

Indoor light

Flash

The base color for the mani in Zoya - Heidi, which I stole from my mom, because I had originally bought it for her in the Zoya Mother's day trio.... hehehe. Anyway, I absolutely love this color. The picture isn't exact to the color, since Hefesto changed it a little, but the bottle picture is spot on. This is a bright and saturated Red/orange - coral; PERFECT for summer time. It went on in two, easy, butter like coats. Zoya is great for nail polish like this. HITS Hefesto is a holo overcoat, which is BEAUTIFUL. Gives any polish a perfect linear holo effect. Only downside is that it changes the color of the polish a little, which I don't mind at all.

Overall:
I love Zoya. Did I ever mention they're my FAVORITE? Time to start buying more! Anyway, I love this mani and I love the holo-ness for summer, since I'm FINALLY on summer break! :) HITS Hefesto is my favorite holo polish I own by far. I purchased HITS Hefesto from Amy at Llarowe. I'll post the link down below so you can get some of your own. ;)

Ma.nish.ma Bolts of Blue

So today I went into the city by my school and did a little shopping! On the way out of the mall we wandered into a Rite-Aid. There I spotted a display from a brand called Hedy's Ma.nish.ma. I've NEVER heard of this brand before. The display said "Runway Style Matte Look!". They're obviously matte neons. I didn't know how I was going to feel about them at first, but I picked up 2 of them and decided it was okay since they're only $2.99 a bottle, which I consider a good price! Take a look:

Please ignore the ding on my pinky nail. I hadn't noticed it till I started cropping the pictures. :(

I actually LOVE this! It's very very bright, but my camera couldn't really capture it. And it's not just a neon creme. It has a lot of shimmer in it, which I also failed to capture. (You can see it in the bottle in the pictures! Just didn't show on my nail in the pictures). I do assure you that it DOES translate to the nail! It has a turquoise shimmer to it's bright blue base. This is absolutely gorgeous. And it gave me no problems what-so-ever with application. It only took 2 coats to become completely opaque! Not too watery, not super thick, just unbelievably perfect!

Overall:
I would say this is totally worth the money. I have yet to try out the other one I purchased, but if it's as amazing as this one, I will be going back to Rite-Aid and purchasing the rest of the collection. (There is 6 or 7 I think). I still don't know who this brand is but I give them props. They're cheap and they're amazing! The only bad thing is the bottle size. They're 10 mL, when OPI and China Glaze are 15. They're not much smaller, it's just a down side of the amazing polish. But at the price, you can afford to go back and get a back up! See you guys next time. :)

So much polish!

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I've been extremely busy in school and with friends. I have accumulated a lot of nail polish in the past week, so I'm very excited to share them with you. :) I received nail mail this week from my friend Melinda over at Melinailsblog.blogspot.com. She bought me two Spoiled by Wet n' Wild polishes, which are impossible to find here I live because there are no CVS's here. :(

First up, I bought a stamper and a scraper! (ignore the cotton on the scraper). Finally lol I also purchased 26 Cheeky Stamping Plates. I believe this is their Summer 2012 collection. I will be taking pictures of the stamps this week and posting them up. :)

Ma.nish.ma - Bolt of Blue and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue

OPI - Just Spotted the Lizard and Ma.nish.ma - Lightening

Color Club - Wing Fling and Sephora by OPI - It Looks Like Rain, Dear

Spoiled - Shuffle the Deck and Color Club - Sky High

Claires - Night Sky and Spoiled - Vitamin C

I'll be swatching a lot of these soon. :) I have already swatched one of the Ma.nish.ma's and I will be putting up a blog post about it very soon. I got those 2 at Rite Aid. They're fairly new, I haven't seen them ever before. They're a Neon Matte collection. (Most mattes are neons, so I don't understand that lol). Anyway, I'm so excited and love all the polishes I've picked up. :) And I should be receiving my Juleps in the mail either tomorrow or the next day. I signed up for the Maven program and I'm excited to get my first 2 Juleps and try them!

Zoya Minka

Hello again! Got bored tonight, and decided to put on my favorite nude ever! Zoya makes THE BEST nudes out there, along with Essie. I got so tired of using Essie's Sand Tropez, I went out on a quest to find another nude I loved. Low and behold, my Ulta had Zoya Minka, and it was love at first sight!

This is 2 beautiful and easy coats of Zoya Minka. It's more of a yellow based nude. What I also like about it is that it kind of has a pearl finish. It's so soft and beautiful, it's great on any day I can't pick a color. It's basically my go to shade. But tonight I was looking to spice it up a little bit...

I used one of my dotting tools to dot on spots of brown which is China Glaze Mahogany Magic. I used a smaller dotting tool to line the brown with black, which was KleanColor Black.

Overall:
I love this manicure. Mostly because I LOVE Minka. I'm not really into animal print on nails (besides Giraffe, since it's my favorite animal), but I feel like it just spices up this lovely nude a little bit. Zoya is a GREAT nail polish brand. Big 3 free and vegan. It is $8 on their website and at an Ulta store.

Llarowe goodie- Hits No Olimpo Hefesto

Hello again lovies! Today I have a beautiful polish from Leah's site Llarowe. I received this in the mail yesterday. It was beautifully packaged and shipped VERY quick. The polish that I bought was HITS No Olimpo Hefesto. This polish is BEYOND gorgeous. It's a holographic top coat so you can't basically turn any polish into a holo. I'm going to shut up now and show you swatches!

Direct Sunlight

Low Light

Blurry (to show holo effect)

This is one coat of HITS Hefesto over 2 coats China Glaze- Liquid Leather (requested by Mel. This is GORGEOUS. Hefesto changes the color of your polish a bit. It gives it a gray/silver tint, but you can still tell what color the polish under it is. The holographic effect in direct sunlight is INSANE. I couldn't get a good picture of it. My camera was freaking out. I went outside to bring something to my friend after I had swatched this, and I looked down at my hand and was almost blinded. Insane I tell you, insaaaaane. Granted, under low light the holo effect is very subtle. That is to be as expected though. It is not as dull as the China Glaze OMG collection indoors though. Application was fantastic. No bald spots which is usual for holographics.

Overall:
You NEED this in your life. I got mine for $9.00 in Leah's shop Llarowe. This is only a 6ml bottle though, compared to China Glaze bottles which are 15ml. Very small amount, but very worth it. You can always order a backup or just use it very carefully. Pick this up today!

KleanColor

Hello everyone! Tonight I will be showing you a few Kleancolor nail polishes. My boyfriend who is in the Navy ordered me a set of 48 Kleancolor nail polishes for my birthday, and had them sent to my dorm! What a sweetie. Anyway, one thing you should know about KleanColor is that they are not big 3 free. Also, to the people who think they smell terrible: they really don't. I think one person said it, and everyone jumped on the bandwagon saying that the polishes have a terrible odor. Honestly, I think Seche Vite smells worse than these polishes do.
Sorry for boring you with a bunch of talk. Here are the swatches!

KleanColor- Mango

Mango is a pretty soft, neonish orange. I'm not really sure how to accurately describe this. It looks a lot brighter in person, but not exactly bright enough to be a neon. This color had a fantastic application and this was 3 coats. (Could have stopped at 2, but I'm VERY picky with VNLs). BUT, I hate how Oranges look on me, so I decided to spice it up a little bit..

I used a little bit of China Glaze- Solar Flare and did a little gradient manicure. I'm not a fan of orange on me, but the gold definitely made it a little spicier and I ended up loving it!

KleanColor- Pearl Jungle

This is a strange, strange color. I have to admit, when I first saw it I thought I would absolutely hate it. But I turned out loving it. It's a very shimmery, kind of dark minty green. It's almost a frost, but not really. Very strange, but very gorgeous at the same time. This was 2 coats. You would think this kind of polish would be sheer, but it had GREAT coverage and dried very fast so you didn't get bald spots! (I've experienced that a lot with shades like this).

Overall:
KleanColor turns out to be a great brand, and I am so thankful to my amazingly sweet boyfriend for sending them to me. :) KleanColors are also a GREAT deal at $3.49 on their website (their shipping is a bit steep though). But they are a better deal for 48 for $43 dollars, like what my boyfriend bought me. I think you should go pick some up, and even though they aren't big 3 free, I do recommend you buy them! Very great brand up there with China Glaze and OPI for me. :)
